The thought that our priorities can be altered because of an outside force regardless of how we actually feel about it. The belief about our own personality that enforces us into a certain way, almost automatically, in order to maintain the validation that this belief is true.
If you don't feel right about something, then don't do it. If a thought offends you, and forces you to act in a way you do not feel happy with, then ignore it. It is not necessary to accept all thoughts, even firm held beliefs about who you are. Life changes, including you.
Bonsai trees have their roots clipped regularly and are kept in little pots. They resemble their fully grown form but always remain stunted. They are manipulated into never achieving their full potential. High maintenance and easily shocked, they require a lot of work.
