Ego, in its nature, is both neurotic and psychopathic. When the connection to the feelings is ignored, ego is free to carry on with its agenda without leaving the present moment. The stimulus of now is sufficient for ego to survive in its self realisation, it its present knowledge of awareness. This disconnected sense of self is dangerous, for when within it, we act according to ego alone. Only when we take a step into the imagination, can we then suggest more to self than the present moment. When acting in accordance to the past and the envisionable futures with given choices, when using thought as well as present awareness, we no longer feel the bliss of self absorption, but we stand more able to take right action. Right action within the present moment is the mark of true awareness, holding both positive and negative at once, submerging self in the ultimate possibilities of both aspects at the same time.
Feelings of isolation and alienation can be misleading. When ego is faced with this situation, in which one is unconnected and invisible, it can be traumatic. However, the presence of this void of energy is a result of natural cycles. When isolation occurs, it is a preparation rite towards spiritual growth. The realisation of the interior peace through contemplation illuminates the whole and creates a push of energy that can act like a repulsion due to the intensity of spirit. This resonance of energy is what can create bubbles of personal separation in which one is forced to find fortitude within self, and this process creates a generative effect causing an expansion of the void. Over time this spaciousness fills again when the frequency of spirit is fully adjusted. This process can take a significant amount of time. This spiritual silence and void, this lonesome situation, is the seed and compost for exponential spiritual growth. My advice is to not judge self for the isolation given to you by the situations in life.
