The Moon EP

When it comes to describing psychedelia, the diction and syntax ought to resemble the maelstrom experience in a flowing hall of mirrors style milkshakey slurp, and why not?

Subtle use of Hawkwind builds the EP into front end feels and twang bends reveal a separation from this iconic imp of rock. Deep south tingles on the eardrums as some former voice from ages past echoes into the present moment, maybe via a living human, somewhat effected and pushed into the frequencies of nirvana. It doesn't take long before the riff becomes the driving force and we are welcomed as listeners into the ambience of rock, vibe, and daydreams. Something very similar to the 60s, 70s, and now, sandwiches the sonic delivery into crispness, ample room for playing around at home with your own guitar, but full on enough to fulfill the desires of any hungry audiophile by itself.

Rivers of notation give the lubrication of vapour rub, complete with tingles and tear jerkers, considering the emotive quality of the keys, voice and drum combo aligned beautifully with chunky guitars straight out of sludge rock, thrown head first into the days of Led Zep. Hefty tracks dominate with each pass, it shows that Cambrian Explosion write material to last, with sure intent to portray a feeling, a message, a sensation that is particular to the moment of the day.

A whirly-gig head spinning buzz seeps in from bar to bar, each new bit giving rise to yet more mind raising sparkles of musical fashioning, only found within the joint works of a few people with a shared dream and a few instruments. The gelling between this band is clear, no matter how many years together, it is demonstrated again and again ,band after band, that when chemistry is there, that it cannot be denied or replicated.

Wonderful news everyone, Psychedelia based progressive rock is here to stay, the kids are loving it as much as the back in the day boys and so the infinite sideways number eight is completed once more.
