A Physicist's Prayer

THINK LIKE A PROTON AND STAY POSITIVE
THINK LIKE A PROTON AND STAY POSITIVE
by sciencegeekness
Dear God
I believe in cause and effect
I know all things have an origin
The universe is an effect
And as you are the cause
You are therefore the creator
In your mysterious ways
You give laws unto all things
You alone give nature the power that it has
For without the source of these laws
There would be no nature
I give thanks for you
Because I know that without you I would not exist
The pleasures of life that I experience
And the wisdom that I gain
Would not be so unless you allowed them
With your grace and goodness
All things must be as they are
And nothing can change your law
All energy must be accounted for
Even in the most minute amount
Every atom has its boundary
Every particle has its eV
Because of you these things must be so
And as this is your law
I know that you are the cause
I cannot see your face
Neither hear your voice
For I know that you are in all things
They are part of your demand
If you wish to commune with me
I look no further than my hand
I look no further than my friends and kin
The faces walking with their aims in town
The flowers growing on the verge
Only grow there because you said they could
And when I see someone do them harm
Cut them down or call their shame
I feel you say within my heart
That this is wrong and that I must not start
You instruct me on every move I make
Which is the correct path to take
And when I dream in my cosy bed
You give me dreams to fill my head
So Know this dear God
What ever you are
I thank you for everyone,
I thank you for the stars,
I thank you for troubles that teach me to grow
And I thank you for giving me these words that I know,
Be kind to your creation
Like I know that you will
I feel that you know this
Although tears you may spill
We are but a young race
Adolescent in age
We have so much angst to work through
An identity to discover
And a purpose to find
And so I ask you to be kind
When your laws are forced to whip our behind.
Amen.
