They relied on their allies,
Who took all the glory,
Forgot the part of the story,
Where we lost over a million souls.
They relied on their NHS,
The standard set high,
But it didn't quite do the job,
Expectations and taxes left to rise,
They relied on the government,
Democracy in full splendour,
They showed themselves up,
Over educated and fingers slender,
They relied on their football team,
A bunch of louty talented lads,
Over paid egotistical loverboys,
Europe kicked them in the nads,
They relied on their neighbour
To do the right thing,
Wash the scales from their eyes,
Act to stop suffering,
They now need to look in the mirror,
And remember who they are,
Citizen of Britain,
Blood of the Lion Heart.
