By Rowan Blair Colver
Be mindful of your thoughts
And watchful of your feelings
If you are not careful they
Will have you enslaved
To any number of things
Futility and Sisyphean folly
Moonwalking backwards to
The abysmal depths of dream
Mind your step in this valley
They may lead you into fools
Paradise in which we stand
Up for strangers we have never met
Assume guilty before proven innocent
And take pride in our stupidity
While kicking sand in the faces
Of our daily saviours and graces
Spittle on the floor that holds us up
From the pits of fire and pressure
Like we have never known
Apart from when in that fleeting second
When we see ourselves in the mirror
Natural born sinner
Natural torn beginner
Be mindful of your thoughts
And watchful of your feelings
If you are not careful they
Will have you enslaved
Doting the loveless
Dabbing the stain of truth
With an inky blot of lies
Cover up the screaming inside
With excited self confident times
