Pedlars of Shame
Poetry by
Rowan Blair Colver
Like pedlars of shame
In the putrid vaults
And chasm bound jolts
Of electricity on cue
Nothing more than due
Hanging decorations new
Made with ghastly tune
Like cyphers in the wax
But mistaken for attack
When the shadows crept at night
Through the cusp of light
Dancing from your curtain
Before such a burden
Could ever have been
Now the eyes turn within
To stare
