Poetry to Remember
The Grenfell Tower Fire
by Rowan Blair Colver
Burned alive,
Like falsely accused witches,
Protesting the injustice,
To ears stuffed with prejudice,
Wailing in the night.
The love of community,
Grief stricken togetherness,
Sisters sadly coping,
Broken hearted wilderness,
Populated by care.
Mourners gather,
To gift their emotional state,
An offering among,
Coins, clothes, and congregation,
Compassion for all.
Anger for the reasons,
A yearn to know the truth,
A crematorium homestead,
The tower on the cards,
Like kindling on the walls.
